  1. LETTER OF INVITATION TO 2012 YOUNG WOMEN’S CONFERENCE ON NON-TRADITIONAL CAREERS

    March 8th, 2012

    Dear Education Leaders,

The Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) would like to extend a special invitation to our 2012 Young Women’s Conference on Non-Traditional Careers.

This year’s conference will offer young women in grades 8-12, as well as college freshman, the opportunity to explore a broad range of exciting non-traditional careers in high growth sectors of the emerging innovation economy. The primary goal is to raise the awareness of young women in the District of the growing opportunities for women in regional, national, and global labor markets of the future, as well as to reinforce the necessity of both academic and technical skills in the careers of the future.

The conference will feature interactive workshops and exhibits, plus presentations by leading women in a variety of fields not traditionally entered by women – particularly science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), but also manufacturing, skilled trades, business and industry, and others. Approximately 225 middle school and high school students from DC public and public charter schools are expected to participate, as well as first-year students from area colleges.

    The conference will be held:
    Friday, March 16th, 2012
    9:00AM-3:30PM
Kellogg Conference Center at Gallaudet University
    800 Florida Ave, NE

We would love for you to join us and participate in the conference.

  4. Hi,

Would you like a free article for your website? I’d like to put something together that offers advice to prospective entrepreneurs who’ve experienced past financial setbacks on how they can get their dream business up and running. I’d also be happy to feature your website in the piece (if there’s a specific link you have in mind, let me know).

Please respond if you’re interested in reviewing the piece and I’ll share it as soon as it’s done.

    Thank you for your time!
