In 2005, a group of public school parents reached out to each other to achieve common goals. With the idea that there is power in numbers, these parents agreed to work together to make improvements in their neighborhood schools.
At the first meeting of what is now known as the Ward 6 Public Schools Parent Organization (W6PSPO), it quickly became clear that there was much to learn from each other, as well as many shared issues and concerns.
Parents and principals have continued to meet monthly since 2005, and work together to strengthen the public schools in Ward 6.

Our logo was designed by professional photographer, artist, entrepreneur and Capitol Hill DCPS parent Amanda McClean (www.amandamcclean.com).
The logo is based on Architectural drawing of 600 block of East Capitol street DC courtesy of HABS, Drawn by Jeff Berei, Lee LeFrancois, and Mary Ann Morris 1989. Amanda discovered the drawing in a Capitol Hill Restoration Society (CHRS) (www.chrs.org) publication called “Building Styles in the Capitol Hill Historic District”.

from your writing. Cheers!
Is there still an CHPSPO organization that meets, or is this just a blog?
Hi Wendy – we meet monthly – third Tuesday of the month. Reach out to w6pspo@gmail.com for details.
If I’m already subscribe to this organization, why am I not receiving emails from W6PSPO?
