Free Back-To-School Vision Screening for Students and Adults

The Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington (http://www.youreyes.org/), is hosting free vision screening September 16-18 at their facility on 233 Massachusetts Avenue NE.
For Children (3-18) there will be screening for amblyopia, strabismus and distance acuity. They’ll have ophthalmologists on site to provide prescriptions and will provide free prescription eyeglasses to children.
For Adults, there will be screening for glaucoma. DC has among the highest incidence rate of glaucoma nationally. It’s a silent, painless (usually) sight stealer, so it’s important to learn of issues before sight is irreversibly lost. Again ophthalmologists will be on site to speak with.
September 16, 12-5pm
September 17, 3-7pm
September 18, 3-7pm
Please distribute the fliers within your schools and communities
